On Thursday, June 18, Student Sponsor Partners hosted a collaborative Virtual Career Day. This meeting was conducted between my wonderful Student Sponsor Partners peers and ViacomCBS employees.
First, an overview on ViacomCBS – one of the leading producers of premium entertainment content. ViacomCBS connects us, along with an incredible number of people around the globe, with brands including MTV, Nickelodeon, BET, CBS, and Comedy Central.
As a positive way to end the school year, me and fellow students along with a panel of ViacomCBS employees (experts in the fields of communications, engineering, and market engagement) shared career perspectives via this virtual event. The topic and question asked of ViacomCBS employees was: What do you wish you knew in high school? Hearing their thoughts allowed us students to ponder our own future aspirations.
The panel sought to emphasize that it is truly fine to change paths. They spoke about their personal experiences and what they thought they would do in the future when they were in high school; little did they know it would be anything but that. However, it was conveyed that their initial aspirations were somehow connected with their current jobs. Each employee discussed their job and position. Likewise, students introduced themselves and shared their future career goals.
By the end of the event, students expressed their personal insights on how the Virtual Career Day impacted their outlook on the future. Students also took the opportunity to ask in-depth questions to all and individual employees.
The event really highlighted our potential while gearing us up for whatever the future may hold!
