Recent Cardinal Hayes High School and SSP graduate Ryan Peña ('23) got the opportunity to join Nuveen, a TIAA company, as a finance intern over the summer and gain valuable experience as he heads to Baruch College to study finance.
During his internship, Ryan gained guidance from a fellow Hayes alumnus, Jose Minaya ('89, top photo), current CEO at Nuveen. He also had the chance to meet TIAA's CEO, Thasunda Brown Duckett (bottom photo), during a fireside chat for interns.
What a great experience – we love to see SSP students connect and network with other alumni from their schools! Mentors are not only role models for students, but they also provide insight and guidance into the very careers their mentees aim to pursue. These relationships are able to last a lifetime and serve as a catalyst into the future successes of students.
