This month, SSP hosted a LinkedIn event in partnership with EY and a College Financial Aid session to explain the options available to them and their families. This is all in an effort to improve access to resources for success.
LinkedIn 101 was hosted on May 17 by Christa Sullivan, Assistant Director of External Communications at EY. The session provided students with an introduction and overview for creating and using LinkedIn. Christa emphasized the importance of developing one's own brand on the platform as each student continues their college and career paths. Christa suggested, “don’t wait until you are in the workforce to build your professional social brand.”
SSP also presented a webinar called "Next Steps for College Financial Aid" for all graduating seniors. At this virtual event, topics covered include understanding college of choice award letters, loan options, and the steps to accepting loans. Students and families left the session with the confidence to make the best choices for them.
At SSP we recognize that the success of our students does not end in class. We aim to respond to their needs on a micro and macro scale; providing support as detailed as following up about a math grade or as broad as offering access to professional and financial workshops.
