Dear Friends,
I hope you and yours are well at this uncertain time. We've received so much support – in the form of donations and thoughts – toward our relief efforts and programs. Although far apart, it seems we have never been closer together.
Our students are also taking action to support their communities. Sean, a junior, gathered fabric and other equipment and encouraged local seamstresses to create face masks for the Urban Resource Institute, a shelter network in our city that serves domestic violence victims and homeless families.
We've seen this powerful kindness at other challenging times. Our students need us now more than ever. We need your help to provide relief for our students and ensure our programs keep running as usual. Please give what you can today!
We hope Sean's words and actions inspire you as they inspired us. You can make a difference now by donating to Student Sponsor Partners or signing up as a virtual mentor. We'll keep sharing updates about our students, relief efforts, and programs in the coming weeks.
This is a difficult time for everyone, and the one glimmer of hope is that we're in this together. You give me hope that we'll get through this together!
Warmest regards,
Debra De Jesus-Vizzi, MSW, LCSW
Executive Director and SSP Alumna
P.S. On Tuesday, May 5, nonprofits at the front lines of this pandemic will unite for #GivingTuesdayNow. We'll send you more about our plans and how you can get involved as the global day of giving approaches.
