Please see below for an update from the front lines:
>> We received a grant from the Heckscher Foundation for Children to provide 144 Chromebooks for our students without school-issued devices. Caring people in our community have also been sending us donated devices.
>> Our Engagement Managers connect with students one-on-one via phone or FaceTime every week to check in on their distance learning progress and mental health at this difficult time.
>> Our staff has been responding to other emergent needs of students and families by providing references to fellow social service agencies and support via our Hardship Fund. We've also provided resource toolkits for families.
>> We're working with our SAT Prep partner to provide virtual lessons for all our juniors and seniors to ensure they don't miss a beat. Our team is also connecting students with virtual tutors and educational tools to support their transition to distance learning.
>> We've provided resources for mentors to support their students at this time, and are recruiting virtual mentors to be there for our students.
