SSP Establishes the Beacon Fund to Strengthen School Partnerships and Support Student Success

Student Sponsor Partners (SSP) is proud to announce the Beacon Fund, an initiative designed to shine a light on schools that exemplify both academic excellence and strong partnership in serving SSP students. Generously funded by the SSP Board of Directors, the Beacon Fund was established in response to calls from partner schools and the broader community for increased financial support to ensure every SSP student has the tools and resources to succeed.

The inaugural Beacon Fund awards have been granted following careful review and based on a set of criteria established by the SSP Board and management team that included a track record of academic excellence, a proven record of strong partnership with SSP, and financial need. These initial awardees represent what it means to be an SSP partner school — combining outstanding educational outcomes with a spirit of shared mission and dedication to students’ futures.

The awardees of the Beacon Fund are:

La Salle Academy (Manhattan)

Monsignor Scanlan High School (Bronx)

Mount St. Michael Academy (Bronx)

Nazareth Regional High School (Brooklyn)

St. Raymond Academy for Girls (Bronx)

St. Raymond High School for Boys (Bronx)

Individual MOU-signing and check-presentation ceremonies will take place at each of the six schools on December 9 and 16.

“The Beacon Fund not only provides additional financial resources but also is a powerful statement of our commitment to our partner schools by recognizing and investing in schools that exemplify excellence,” said Henry Mulholland, SSP Board Chair.
